Ravenglass Roman Bath House
Ravenglass, Cumbria CA18 1RW - England, UK
|
| The impressive remains of the Roman bath house at Ravenglass are among the most complete in Britain. Ravenglass was an important strategic port and naval base for the Romans. Established in AD130, the fort at Ravenglass was built at the spot called Glannoventa and was in use up to the third Century. Standing up to almost 4 metres (13 feet high), the well preserved bath house walls are a reminder of one of the most ingenious Roman inventions. |
