Claife Heights
Near Sawrey, Cumbria LA22 - England, UK
|
| Claife Heights is an area of woodland owned by the National Trust, on the western shores of Windermere. It is a great spot for walking, cycling and wildlife. Wildlife prefers woods of a variety of species, made up of trees of different ages, lots of dead wood and with a few sunny glades. The moist climate and the acid soils of the Lake District combine to encourage beautiful moss-rich oakwoods - a habitat rare in Europe and of international importance. |
